ENODIS AND HALTON ANNOUNCE HIGH PERFORMANCE KITCHEN ALLIANCE
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – Foodservice industry leaders Enodis and Halton Group have announced a strategic alliance to explore and develop High Performance Kitchens optimising the interaction between people, work methods, technology and the environment.
High Performance Kitchens will incorporate a holistic approach to kitchen design and operation, providing higher overall energy efficiency, greater flexibility, and optimised labour, time, and motion while improving the work environment for kitchen employees.
“Efficient energy use, improved labour management and maximum menu flexibility are among the major concerns of foodservice operators everywhere,” said David McCulloch, CEO of Enodis plc. “High Performance Kitchens will demonstrate that tomorrow’s commercial kitchen can overcome these challenges, delivering high quality food faster and consistently while maximising efficiency and contributing to employee retention. Enodis has the industry’s broadest portfolio of cold and hot side products and the leadership position in accelerated cooking, making us uniquely qualified to address these opportunities.”
“Today’s kitchen environment and operations can be improved greatly to provide a more pleasant, productive and efficient working environment,” said Mika Halttunen, Chairman of Halton Group. “High Performance Kitchens will focus on better management of the indoor environment in kitchens. Through our expertise in indoor air quality, thermal comfort, air purification and energy efficiency in various working environments, we envision High Performance Kitchens that contribute to employee satisfaction and retention, reducing the cost of turnover and training for operators. At the same time, advanced management of the indoor environment will improve the operating costs of the kitchen radically by reducing energy consumption and increasing the productivity of work.”
Enodis and Halton Group envision High Performance Kitchens as a collaborative process utilising extensive input and participation from operators, kitchen designers, food manufacturers and other industry resources from around the world. At the National Restaurant Association annual conference and trade show in Chicago, Enodis and the Vent Master division of Halton Group will utilise their Kitchen Innovations exhibits to demonstrate today’s product innovations and invite leading operators to join the collaborative process.
The two companies plan to host a series of ideation sessions for operators, designers and other participants. These will start with facilitated meetings at the Enodis Technology Centre in Tampa, FL and Vent Master in Mississauga, ON. A series of live “webinars” and internet discussion sites will allow broad participation by others with interest in High Performance Kitchens.
