When Cardinal Wiseman School looked refurbish their kitchens they didn’t just change their equipment, they changed their whole serving philosophy. With the government’s recent focus on nutritionally balanced meals, the school moved to in-house catering and made healthy food the main priority.
The new kitchen caters for 1,400 pupils in 45 minutes. To achieve this, all food is now prepared on site using a sleek combination of Accelerated Cooking Technology. Designed and installed by Nelson Catering Equipment, the operation includes Convotherm combination ovens, Garland Ultra ranges as well as products from Merrychef and Frymaster.
Jacqueline Parks who is responsible for food at Cardinal Wiseman School explains why the new approach and improved kitchen facilities are making a real difference:
